State-Issued Warrants AcceptedJuly 7, 2009; Ridgecrest, CA AltaOne announces that as a service to their members, California State-issued warrants will be negotiated; in other words, cashed similar to checks. The California State Controller announced that, beginning July 2, the State will be issuing registered warrants (i.e., IOUs) in lieu of checks for certain payments.
AltaOne will treat these warrants like checks, to the best of our ability, said Robert M. Boland, AltaOne President/CEO. We have a long tradition of providing uninterrupted service to our members. He further stated AltaOne also honored such IOUs in 1992, the last time the State of California had to issue the promise-to-pay notes and will do this once more, as a courtesy to our members.
